Dr. Panagiotis Papantoniou presents The driving simulator as a valid measure of driving behavior, as Mr. Dimosthenis Pavlou couldn't make it to Corfu.

Driving in traffic and traffic accidents is an important issue in EU. Human factors are the basic causes in 65-90% of road accidents (distraction, error, dangerous acition, inexperience among them). Driving simulator challenges include fidelity (level of realism inherent in the virtual world) and validity (degree to which simulator behavior corresponds to behavior in real-world enviroments). Dr. Papantoniou analyses a myriad of lateral and longitudinal driving performance measures used in the validation of their interdisciplinary driving simulator experiment that included 225 participants! A video presentation of a participant concluded this interesting talk.
