Ioanna Dratsiou holds a Bachelor degree from School of Primary Education and a Master degree, Master of Science in Learning Technologies, both from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. "Digital Transformation in Higher Education" at the School of Philosophy and Education, AUTH.
Her research interests revolve around digital innovation, assistive technologies and technology-enhanced learning. She has been working since 2018, as a Research Associate in various research programs of the AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab addressing the development and validation of assistive technologies for the support and improvement of quality-of-life of individuals belong in vulnerable groups, including older adults and people with intellectual disabilities. Through her work at Lab, she has been also actively involved in various social innovation practices of the Thessaloniki Action for HeAlth & Wellbeing Living Lab (ThessAHALL), with a special focus on applying Living Lab methodologies (co-creation, covalidation etc.) and interacting with multiple stakeholders from the Quadruple Helix (Academia, Industry, Government, Civil Society) for the development and testing of innovative technological solutions.
Additionally, her involvement in designing and implementing interventions that support the cognitive and physical condition of older adults helped her advance her expertise in creating age-appropriate and personalized approaches as well as her dedication to promote active and healthy aging. She possesses extensive knowledge and experience in teaching various aspects of technology-enhanced learning, e-learning methodologies, and online education.
Her dedication to advance the field of assistive technologies and inclusive education is reflected in her numerous publications. She has contributed to various scientific and conference papers, exploring topics such as the impact of the assistive technologies in the support of vulnerable populations, the promotion of refugees’ healthcare integration, and the exploration of technology on primary school students' attitudes. Lastly, she coordinates the compliance of the iMedPhys Lab in terms of the Design & Implementation of Education/Training programmes with ISO Standards.
