George Arfaras (Male) holds a degree in Computer Science and Information Technology Department of Informatics Engineering of the TEI of Western Macedonia (Kastoria) and a Master’s Degree in Medical Informatics at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is currently employed as a Research Associate at the Lab of Medical Physics, Faculty of Medicine in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece.  He has worked on  the research program CSI: BRAINWAVE, a  clinical study for rehabilitation of patients with Cervical Spinal Cord Injury (CSCI) and is currently working on various research projects like, NeuroSuitUp, a Human-Machine Interface project aimed in promoting neuroplasticity in spinal cord injury, TekTrain, a novel architecture offering the necessary tools and APIs towards making the educational programming process easy and fast and CoViRR, co-creation of virtual reality reusable e-resources in the healthcare sector. His research interests are biomedical technology, robotics, medical devices, virtual environments, and scenario based learning, educational robotics, online learning environments, ICT tools and assistive technologies.
