Musician and musicologist interested in the neuroscience of music.
He was born in Thessaloniki where he started music lessons in electric bass. He continued with classical double bass studies at Thessaloniki State Conservatory under Professors G. Gralistas first and V. Liarmakopoulos until now. At the same time, he pursued further studies in Sound Engineering and Music Technology at IEK Delta, Music Theory under Professor G. Grampsas at Conservatory of K. Matsigkos, and currently he is a senior MA Musicology/Music Education student at Department of Music Studies, AUTH. As a musician, he has played as a bassist with local bands and ensembles in a wide area of genres such as rock, free improv, jazz, tango, and has taken part as a choir singer in numerous concerts in Greece and abroad. He was a member of Critical Music Histories group that, focusing on exploring the less historically documented aspects of music, organized open lectures and presented in conferences. His research interests shifted from the Anthropology of music to how the fundamentals of music perception and action are rooted in the human brain. Currently he is working as a research assistant at project MusicPlast, at Medical Physics Lab, AUTH.
