Associate Professor Panagiotis D. Bamidis and Dr. Christos A. Frantzidis appeared in the morning show in SKAI TV ΣΚΑΪ Τηλεόραση #tora_skai. They described the Greek experiment on sleep and metabolic alterations during a 60 days bed-rest study held in the ‘ENVIHAB’ premises of the German Aerospace Agency (DLR) in Cologne. This study was the first long-term bed-rest study simulating the effects of long-term spaceflights and was organized by the co-operation of the European Aerospace Agency (ESA) with the DLR. The Laboratory of Medical Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Greek AeroSpace Medical Association (GASMA) participated in that study investigating the effects of microgravity on sleep, hormones and arterial stiffness. The project co-ordinator was Dr. Chrysoula Kourtidou Papadeli.
