Dr. Panagiotis Antoniou is a postdoctoral research associate in AUTH affiliated with the groups of Medical Education Informatics and Assistive Technologies and Silver Science. He graduated in physics and received his PhD in biomedical signal processing. His research interests include Medical Physics, Medical Informatics and specifically, the fields of virtual patients in medical education and in the field of the elderly exergaming interventions as well as in Ambient Assisted living. In medical education informatics his research intrests focus in contemporary education paradigms with experience in implementing educational digital content and conducting formative and summative assessment in technology enhanced scenario based learning episodes. In the field of elderly exergaming interventions he is currently exploring experiential enhancements to the presentation layer of contemporary serious games for the sensitive age groups. In ambient assisted living environments he is exploring the augmentation of smart homes through immersive visualization techniques. He is member of the editorial board and Program committees of international peer reviewed journals and conferences. He has participated as freelance research associate and technical manager in several EU funded projects. He has authored more than 35 scientific publications in journals and conferences several of which are in the field of technology enabled educational content creation and repurposing.
