Nikolaos Papachristou holds a Ph.D. degree in Machine Learning for Exploring and Predicting Cancer Symptom Clusters. He followed studies in Medical Laboratory Technology/Biomedical Science, Life Science Informatics, Health Technology Assessment, Health Services Organisation and Management, Education and Pedagogy. As a researcher he has worked in designing and evaluating Medical eLearning Systems, implementing a mixed-methods study, and evaluating patient safety of the healthcare services (i.e., primary care, cancer care, dementia care) in North West London. He has also explored novel applications of machine learning and network analysis on cancer symptom clusters and biobank (i.e., Genomics England) data. Before his current position, he has worked at the Global eHealth Unit of Imperial College London, at the 5G Innovation Centre and the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP) of the University of Surrey, and at the Institute of Health Informatics of University College London. He has also worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Biomedical Scientist in a hospital, and did e-learning and AI research at the University of Patras. His research interests include the areas of biomedical informatics, data science for multi-modal data, network analyses for patient care data, new technologies supporting the QoL and care trajectory of chronic patients. He is an active volunteer supporting online activities around the life-long education of biomedical affiliates and the provision of trustworthy
public health information to chronic patients and the general audience.
