Ass. Professor Emmanouil Papanastasiou has been working as a clinical medical physicist at the AHEPA University Hospital since 1997, serving as a radiation protection specialist at the Nuclear Medicine and Radiology departments. During these 20 years he has trained more than 35 younger medical physicists.
Apart from his clinical duties, his main research interests included radiation protection and dosimetry in radiology and interventional cardiology, image quality in nuclear medicine and computed tomography and quality control in nuclear medicine and radiology.
Since May 2018, as an Assistant Professor of Medical Physics, he is lecturing at the undergraduate courses of Medical Physics, Introduction to Biomedical Engineering and Diagnostic Imaging I, as well as a number of postgraduate courses.
