Prof. Panagiotis Bamidis opened the conference. Representing the public authorities, Dr. Kallinikos Christodoulou welcomed the participants in Corfu. Dr. Manousos Klados welcomed the participants from the side of the organizers. Dr. John Gruzelier presented the history and main goals of the Society for Applied Neurosciences meeting and along with the other organizers ensured that there will be a smooth transition between the sessions. Dr. Gruzelier also presented the first keynote speaker: Dr. Katya Rubia.
