Dr Clément François, presented a very interesting study performed in adults and children, which shows that the music practice and training, enhance the sensitivity to statistical regularities in speech at behavioral and neural levels. At this study, they initiated an artificial (sung) language learning design coupled with an electrophysiological approach to two groups, musicians and no musicians. The results provided evidences of positive transfer of training effect from music to language processing and suggest that music can play an important role in developing new intervention programs for education of both normal and language-based learning impaired population.
