Niki Pandria kicked of the talk with a brief discourse about what is neurofeedback. Linking that to smoking craving as a brain function modification. A host of neurofeedback approaches regarding smoking cessation is presented through a thorough literature review.

The SFB study takes cues from these studies and includes a clinical evaluation, a neurophysiological evaluation, a waiting period, a biofeedback/neurofeedback intervention group and then the assessment.

The talk proceeded to present the goals of the study as well as a piloting Case study. A detailed mention of the psychometric questionnaires and EEG recordings is presented as well as the details of the neurofeedback process training.

A rigorous analysis regimen has been piloted in the case study and is presented in detailed in the talk. Mathematical details are elaborated.  Specific case results are presented in great detail.

This is a preliminary validation that provides encouraging results which will also shall serve as the blueprint for the SFB neurofeedback large scale study.
