Dr. John Papatriantafyllou takes the floor to open with an obvious but often overlooked remark. Over 25% of traffic accidents involve alcohol and this percentage scyrockets to over 40% of lethal accidents in young adults.

Among psychiatric disorders identified on police records after driving accidents dementia is prevalent but suicidal tendencies should not be overlooked either. Patients with psychiatric disorders drive fewer miles/ year but are involved in twice as many accidents.

Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzeheimer's Disease are on the spotlight of Dr. John's talk as well, focusing on their neuropsychiatric symptoms this time. Depression and irritability were related to more driving errors. Anxiety, apathy as well.
