The Laboratory of Medical Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in collaboration with the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HeSMO) recognizing the needs of vulnerable populations of patients, such as the oncologic ones, regarding the presense and the effects of the new coronavirus, proceeded to the creation of on line virtual patient applications for training the patients in the CoVid-19 era. These applications are interactive educational scenarios that are addressed to train patientsfor self protection and offer phycological guidance.
The patients are invited to navigate through these scenarios and thus to be trained in the adoption of self protection messures and better management of the psychological impact of the new situation that has arisen. This initiative has been extended with the collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer "Alma Zois" so as these tools to be offered to the women with breast cancer for their support and guidance throughout the pandemic.
A study has been designed so as to evaluate this effort, focusing on the usability of this application and the learning outcomes of the training process as well.
