DS LEISURE project is listed among the GOOD PRACTICE EXAMPLES by Erasmus+ and the results are already published on programme's platform.

The project was evaluated by both the National Agency and an external evaluator. 

SHAPES (Smart and Health Ageing through People Engaging in Supportive Systems) is an Innovation Action funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme involving a total of 14 European countries. It aims at creating an integrated IT platform that will bring together a wide range of digital solutions focused on improving the health, wellbeing, and independence of people as they get older.

Το Εργαστήριο Ιατρικής Φυσικής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΠΘ) σας προσκαλεί να συμμετέχετε στην 1η ανοιχτή εκδήλωση Σχεδιασμού που διοργανώνει για το Ευρωπαϊκό ερευνητικό έργο CAPTAIN. Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στο Ξενοδοχείο Capsis (Μοναστηρίου 16), την Τρίτη 20 Νοεμβρίου 2018, και ώρα 9π.μ.-12μ.μ. και απευθύνεται πρωτίστως σε άτομα άνω των 60 ετών, καθώς και σε συγγενείς τους,  και σε φροντιστές υγείας που θα ήθελαν να συμμετάσχουν ως εθελοντές, για να συνδράμουν στο σχεδιασμό οικιών ανεξάρτητης διαβίωσης, με γνώμονα τις καθημερινές τους ανάγκες. Δεν υπάρχουν άλλοι περιορισμοί, πέραν της ηλικίας, και δεν απαιτείται προεγγραφή.

On Monday, 24th of September 2018, Associate Professor at the School of Physical & Occupational Therapy of McGill University of Canada, Joyce Fung and her close partner, Professor at the School of Physical Education & Sports Science of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) Vassilia Hatzitaki and member of her team visited the facilities of the AUTH Medical Physics Laboratory and met with Associate Professor of Medical Education Informatics Panagiotis Bamidis and researchers of the Assistive Technologies and Silver Science Group

The Medical Physics Laboratory of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, partner of “AD-Autonomy” Erasmus+ project, attended the second meeting, held by SPOMINČICA – ALZHEIMER SLOVENIA on 28th-29th May 2018 in Ljubljana. AD-AUTONOMY is launched with the main objective of increasing the competences (attitudes, skills, knowledge) of Persons with Initial/Mild Alzheimer (PwA), Families and Caregivers, about how to improve their Quality of Life through Autonomy through an innovative training program.

On 12 and 13 April 2018, AIPD hosted the second meeting between partners participating in the European project DS LEISURE (the first meeting was on October 2017 in Craiova, Romania). The initiative is promoted by the Romanian association ALDO-CET Asociatia Langdon Down Oltenia, Centrul Educational Teodora; AIPD is one of the partner associations.

In a special awarding ceremony, held on Friday, 18th of May, in the Ceremony Hall at the old building of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the AUTH Faculty of Health Sciences honored with the “Excellence Awards” all of its members, who distinguished during the year 2017 for their educational and research work, the innovation of methods and techniques, emphasizing, for the first time, on their multidisciplinary medical and social work, as well as on the awarding of Academic Professors and faculty members, who receive recognition and have great influence inside and outside Greece.
